*Donated $1000 for Fort King Heritage Association, Inc.
*Established the Ocala, Tuscawilla, Downtown and West Side Historic Districts and placed
them on the National Historic Register.
*Contributed $5000 to the City for a survey enabling the downtown to be placed on the
National Historic Register.
*Placed the Fressenden School and the Lake Weir Yacht Club on the National Historic
*Donated the downtown gazebo to the City of Ocala.
*Placed Historic District street signage and entrance markers in each historic district.
*Donated $5000 to the City of Ocala for the restoration of the South City Gates.
*Created a Fort King Street Walking Tour and brochure for elementary school students.
*Co-sponsored with the Ocala Star Banner and the City of Ocala¸ an educational history
program of Ocala and Marion County for eighth grade students. Donation for this project
*Contributed $1000 to the restoration of the Citra Bank building.
*Restored the 4000 square foot Snowden House in the Tuscawilla Historic District.
*Contributed $6000 to the restoration of the Marion Theater. Later, contributed resources
and formed an alliance with the Save the Marion Theater group toward the "Save the
Marion Theater" effort.
*Contributed $5000 to the restoration of the Confederate Memorial Statue including a
bench to the Veterans Memorial Park.
*Sponsored and contributed to the City's Pride in Bloom for several years.
*Facilitated, between the homeowners and the City of Ocala, the installation of decorative
period lighting on SE Fifth Street.
*Sponsored and contributed, along with the homeowners, the placement of bronze plaques
in the Ocala Historic District. The plaques list the original owners as well as historical facts.
*Established quarterly Historic District Beautification Awards for residential and commercial
properties in the Districts.
* Conducts several tours including the Heritage Tour of Historic Homes, Garden Tours and
Christmas Candlelight Tours in order to bring attention to the beauty of our historic homes.
*Donated $1000 to help with repairs at the Mt. Zion Church.
