Ghost Tours

Step into Ocala's past

Step into Ocala’s past with the HOPS Ghost Walking Tour. Follow our guide, HOPS President Kat Ramirez through historic streets and landmarks as we share stories rooted in real people, buildings, and events from the 1880s–1940s 👻🏛️

Your registration supports the Historic Ocala Preservation Society’s work to preserve and protect Ocala’s historic districts through tours, education, and advocacy. Together, we keep our city’s stories, structures, and spirit alive for residents and visitors alike.

Capacity and Volunteer Operation: Our ghost tours are proudly organized and led entirely by dedicated volunteers. Because operations rely on volunteer availability, tour dates and capacities are strictly limited.

Weather and Cancellation Policy: Our tours take place entirely outdoors, so weather can directly impact our schedule. Rain, severe weather, or hazardous conditions will cause a delay or cancellation for the safety and comfort of our guests and volunteers. In the event that a tour must be delayed or canceled due to weather, ticket holders will be notified as early as possible via email or text and provided with options to reschedule or receive a refund.

Content Advisory: Our tours explore historical events that include mature topics, dark folklore, and sensitive subject matter. These stories may not be suitable for young children. Parent or guardian discretion is advised.

Walking, Terrain, and Accessibility:  Tours involve continuous walking and standing on uneven terrain, dark walkways, and historic streets. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the outdoors. Please reach out in advance if anyone in your group requires special accessibility accommodations. For people using wheelchairs, some of the paths do  not have sidewalks, therefore it may be difficult to navigate this walking tour.

Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver:  By purchasing a ticket, participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with the tour, including personal injury, property damage, or loss. The organization and its volunteer guides are not liable for incidents occurring during the event.

Guest Behavior and Intoxication Policy:  For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, disruptive behavior, unsafe actions, or public intoxication will not be tolerated. Guides reserve the right to remove any individual from the tour without a refund.

Photo and Video Recording Rules: Still photography is welcomed and encouraged, but continuous audio or video recording of guides during the presentation is strictly prohibited. By attending, guests consent to being photographed for promotional use unless they opt out with tour staff prior to departure.
